Tapesh was brought up in his father’s clubs during the early 80s, where he had no choice but to listen to things like Kraftwerk and proper funk music. Given his impressionable young ears, it’s no wonder he has never stopped listening and now spends his days playing music to others. Having finally broken through into the public conscious thanks to productions like Reminisce on Get Physical, Feelings on Mobilee as well as others on labels like Noir and Defected, Tapesh has become very much in demand around the world, taking his flamboyant DJ sets to clubs like Cocoon in Frankfurt, Warung in Brazil and Studio 80 in the Netherlands.
With multi-cultural roots informed by everything from house to breakdance across scenes in UK, US and Europe, Tapesh has fomented a very unique DJ style that takes in plenty of sounds and knits them together into one grater whole. Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, DJ T and Anja Schneider, for example, are all fans of that special ‘Tapesh feeling’, and that same feeling is what makes the man’s music so well loved. As for the future, Tapesh is currently working on a new compilation and a full artist album as well as working on new singles and EPs all the while.
Some things are just meant to happen. To see Hermanez, the Belgium-born DJ and producer with Latin roots and heritage, rise to the top of the new crop, seems like a natural progression for those in the know. Hermanez is perhaps mostly associated with his grooving, and tribal-flecked tech-house productions, which keeps finding favours with the great and good including Luciano, Loco Dice and Reboot to name a few. However, a closer look at the Belgium-born producer’s back catalogue unveils an all-encompassing production saviness confidently moving through the different realem of techno.
With releases on aforementioned labels, he adds to his discography Trapez LTD, Viva Music, Leena Music, Noir and Suara, with a much-talked about releases on New York based label Serkal Music and Inmotion Music, not to mention releaes on his own Aella Music imprint which he runs together with long-time friend and fellow Belgian Ramon Tapia. Gigwise, apart from his monthly residency at the concept Unicode in his native Belgium, Hermanez has been zigzagging the planet delivering a perfect fusion of house and techno, incorporating minimal undercurrents and rhythmic building blocks, to clued-up revelers at off-Sonar in Barcelona, Fuse Brussels, Spartacus in Aix en Provence, Footwork in Toronto, Tanzhaus West in Frankfurt, Module in Tokyo, Club Air, ADE Festival in Amsterdam and Tomorrowland (Belgium) at the Cafe d’Anvers stage.
Yet it is clear that Hermanez is on the rise, gaining momentum with every single one of his multi-facetted releases. Join Hermanez’ great artistic journey into the future - and become a part of it!
Amsterdam based house and techhouse dj/producer Luuk van Dijk (‘96) started producing electronic music in 2011. In 2013, he won the Kunstbende DJ-contest and that gave him a well deserved spot at Mysteryland 2014!
He hosts his own clubnight PUUR in Hilversum. Besides that, Luuk performed in clubs like De Marktkantine, Studio 80, Basis and Factory 010 and at festivals like DGTL Festival, Straf_Werk, Amsterdam Open Air and A day at the Park. He played alongside The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82, Skream, Noir, Detroit Swindle, Nic Fanciulli, Shadow Child and even did a b2b set with Huxley during the after party of Straf_Werk Festival.
With releases on Roush and Food UK did his first release on Roush ‘Body E.P.’ in 2015, got some amazing reviews and support from Marco Corola, Huxley, Sidney Charles, Felix Da Housecat, Darius Syrossian and Joris Voorn. As Manchester based music platform XYST reports: “A cracking EP that hints at great promise, we can’t wait to hear more from Mr. Van Dijk over the next while.”
Although he’s very young, his own productions and dj-sets are filled with sounds that take you back to the old days but are contemporary at the same time. An old soul you might call it, Luuk van Dijk has only started to show the world what he stands for musically.
Born and bred in Santander (North of Spain), his first contact with Electronic music comes from 90´s UK sounds that lately will make a fundamental role as his influences and inspiration. As a teenager he began to discover club culture in his local area being heavily impacted by the sounds of British techno either as Birmingham harsh beats or Sheffield and Warp’s IDM sounds. He has released works for essential labels like Warm Up Recordings, Float Records, 47 Recordings, PoleGroup or Transhuman Records and also his cooperation with Marcel Heese as PMH.
2017 was a pivotal year on his career, with the release of his first Album Temptation through Impatience to be in all stores this spring on his very own Falling Ethics and his addition to the PoleGroup family.
As a performer he is a solid live act and also an excellent selector in the dj booth, combining the pulse of aggressive beats with mental, ambiental and experimental flavors.
Having been offered a slot at a small but illustrious club in Antwerp, Belgium at the age of 21, Deltano impressed so much he was given a weekly residency and the rest, as they say is history. At the end of 2015 the man claimed the 18th spot in the well valued Red Bull Elektropedia Belgian DJ Top 100 and has played the likes of Extrema Outdoor Festival, Tomorrowland, Café D’Anvers and almost everywhere else in Belgium, whilst having also been booked to play in countries all over Europe.
According to the man himself, the sets he lays down “tend to have a slightly darker twist in them. I like to build up things really slowly, take everything to a higher level and really enjoy playing long sets because they allow me to tell a better story.”
Inspired throughout his life by a wide array of music from grunge to hip hop via Belgian house, it’s only natural that Deltano produces, too. His deep, part house, part techno, but basically genre-defiant productions come on labels like Be Chosen, Suara, Rawthentic, Memoria, Rockets & Ponies, Tzinah, Inmotion and many more. Those labels are a reflection of the versatility this man holds in him. Basically he creates what feels right for him, rather than following any trends of the day, both when producing and DJing. In truth, it’s always been this way; he has always needed an output for his creativity and music is the perfect fit. The aim of the man whether in a club or studio is an honest one: to convey the same experiences and feelings he himself gets from the music he makes, plays and unearths whenever he can....
When talking about the top-representatives of Belgian underground culture, Iris Menza undoubtedly pops up on the major tier of the list.
Next to being a highly demanded and respec- ted name in the Benelux, frequent appearances at Sankeys Ibiza and Sisyphos Berlin amongst others emphasize her bordercrossing success as a globe-trotting artist.
As Iris excels in bringing a refined hybrid of dub-tech, deep house and techno with an emotional undertone, she has been able to craft a sophisticated, yet recognizable sound through the years which she can undisputedly call her own. Release-wise, she landed her debut EP on Cachai Music, the renowned label of Daniel Sanchez and Andre Butano.
In 2017, Iris joined forces with the FloorBoo- kings agency for the exclusive Benelux area. As both parties strive to maintain and reinforce Iris' current high-ranked status in underground nightlife, they subsequently work on letting her reach even higher grounds in the near future.
Charles André aka Charles Fenckler is a young French producer and the latest in new talent to have joined Soma, the emblematic Scottish record label founded by Slam in 1991. Passionate about music from a young age, he has matured into a full fledged producer composing modern Techno to which he adds his own feelings and emotions drawing inspiration from icons such as Ø [Phase], Skudge or Shed.
Fully included into the new generation of talented European producers, Charles Fenckler is a child from post-raves movements living in a world where electronic music doesn’t need to struggle anymore and has been entirely accepted by the society. Animated by these progressives motivations, he’s not looking for models and rather gets to distinguish himself thanks to a total freedom in his creations, taking the best from what he earned along his path. Now rewarded for his painstaking approach to techno music, his tracks are played from Awakenings to Weather Festival and also including clubs likes Berghain, Verboten, Le Rex, Sub Club and Spazio Tempo to name a few. Not to mention this success wouldn’t have been possible without the early support from many of the most respected producers ranging from worldwide known artists such as Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Joseph Capriati or Alan Fitzpatrick to vinyl diggers that all have forcast the bright future of his.
With such musical knowledge for someone so young and a unique sense for banging techno, Charles Fenckler impressed the everlasting Soma Records where he’ll released his debut album due to the autumn 2016. Knowing that the first releases including the huge «District Two» and « Frozen Room » have all gained international attention from media such as DJ Mag, Mixmag, Decoded and Trax, he will be the one to watch this new season.
J.KØPS is the phonetic conversion of the last name of Arno Jacobs. Around his sweet sixteen, he got in touch with electronic music. Electro and house were the first styles of an infinite universe of contemporary dance music that struck him. It didn’t take too long before the decision was made to get into the world of turntablism, and more in particular in becoming a DJ. 5 years ago he bought his first set of turntables, and with that buy, he got a calling to dig deeper into the art of sound.
His career as a DJ started off with some local gigs, together with some friends. And in a series of events, a promising project was founded by him and his friends: Aftrwhat. Through this organization, chances were created to obtain more gigs at local festivals, various events and a residency at Aftrwhat.
Recently, the musical route of J.KØPS has been extended to what could be considered the right choice for any artist that takes music seriously: the production of music itself. Working together with other producers of the Aftrwhat family like Dimster & Tiggeri, Unclesand and Ben Solar, one just have to wait to hear a result anytime soon in the future. The combination of striving to that technically perfectly made song and the effect of surprise is not only a goal, but also a commitment to the ever changing world of techno.
The performances of J.KØPS are mainly techno-oriented, with sometimes the import of distinctly heavier tech house. Switching between light and dark, he creates an actual contrast throughout his sets, with a flexibility which makes him eligible for every position on the line up. The delivery of quality music is pretty much what he is about, and with that in mind, you just can’t go wrong with J.KØPS.
